Concerts in the Park

Fitzroy’s Concerts in the Park Returns Starting July 7

The long-awaited Fitzroy Provincial Park Concerts in the Park Series returns from its two-year COVID-19-forced break.

The popular, free concert series kicks off in July at Fitzroy Provincial Park every Thursday evening in July. Gates open at 6 p.m. and the concerts run from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Donations for CHEO will be collected at the gate. Barbecues start at 6 p.m. Each night a barbecue will be hosted by local youth groups funding their programs.

Bring a lawn chair and enjoy, rain or shine.


Study on Indoor Air Quality in New Homes

Are you moving into a newly built home? Health Canada wants to better understand indoor air quality in new homes.

The New Home Air Quality study (NHAQS) is taking place within Ottawa, is free to participate in, and may be of interest to those who are looking to learn more about the indoor air quality in their new homes, including ventilation rates.

Galetta Community Association Meeting

The Galetta Community Association’s next meeting is a General Meeting scheduled for August 22 at 7 pm at the Galetta Community Hall, located at 119 Darwin Street.

 

We normally have monthly meetings on the last Monday of the month.
They alternate between Executive Meetings and General Meetings.

OCTOBER 25, 2022    9:00 A.M. TO NOON .... FREE

WE ARE ALWAYS LOOKING FOR VOLUNTEERS.  OUR NEXT MEETING IS 22ND AUGUST 2022 AT 7:00. P.M. AT THE GALETTA HALL.

IN THE MEANTIME, OUR COLLECTION SHED IS OPEN AND ACCEPTING DONATIONS.  IF YOU DO NOT NEED IT, SOMEONE MAY.

 

Again, we will be relying on the community to supply us with product.  What is junk to you is a treasure to others.

There is an unlocked shed to the right of the parking lot where you can leave your donations if no one is around to help you.

Please. this year we will not be accepting electronics or DVDs.


LAWN BOWLING

Lawn Bowls commenced in May.  New members are invited to experience this gentle sport which is sometimes described as "curling on grass."Information is available via e-mail at:  patrosebears2399@gmail.com, or call Pat at 613 623 8901.  There is also an Information Board near the gate to the "Green", with salient information for the casual visitor.  "Try it, you'll like it."
